The Picture Description In The Bible
Just a couple more things to know about prophecy writing and we will get started on the Babylon’s picture descriptions in the bible.
Prophecy Is Always Written Apocalyptic Writing
Almost all prophecy is written in apocalyptic writing which is not always in chronological order. Meaning: the events are many times not written in order. This especially and clearly evident in the book of Revelation..
Let us define a few terms that help determine the difference certain times and in-particular places.
39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD. KJV
Important Time terms
Here in Jeremiah he refers to the Latter Days… Now what does Latter days mean? Let’s go to the Hebrew in which the word was written originally.
The word Latter comes from a Hebrew word: Strong’s # 319
‘achariyth (akh-ar-eeth’); from OT:310; the last or end, hence, the future; also posterity:
KJV-(last, latter) end (time), hinder (utter) -most, length, posterity, remnant, residue, reward.
Most Messianic Rabbi’s will tell you that the word “achariyth”in Hebrew means the time when Messiah Reigns. So when is the time that our Messiah Reigns? It cannot be the time of the first Babylon, right? Jesus had not come yet, so in Jeremiah 49:39 he mentions this time being the Latter Days talking about the time Messiah reigns. Right? Let’s move on.
Description Of The People
50:1The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet. KJV
Now how were the Chaldeans described in the Book of Isaiah? Remember we are talking about the Babylon in the Latter days and that some of these verses have two meanings. Please don’t let this confuse you.
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled! KJV
Isaiah says “to a nation scattered and peeled:” this means; a nation of tall people and smooth of skin. This is really not describing the Iraqi people, the people in Iraq are not tall people by the world’s average height. This may have described the Chaldeans of then, but again, what days are we talking about in this prophecy? This is in the Latter Days.
Another description of Babylon The Great here in Jeremiah 50:11-12
11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;
Let’s stop here for a moment. Babylon the Great is described here as a country who has become fat, prospering from third world rogue nations. And also, “O ye destroyers of mine heritage” This is the Babylon of the Latter days. They have made Israel, by applying political pressure to their government to give their land away in the name of a false Peace Treaty. This cannot be Iraq, because Iraq is not making Israel give her land away. Let’s go to the very next verse 12 in Jeremiah
12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. KJV
Here in Jeremiah verse 12, this Babylon has a mother country, meaning this country was known to be born out of another or a mother country (and the mother country is ashamed of her). Iraq and the first Babylon does not have a mother country. And there is another description here, (the hindermost of all Nations), means the last of the most powerful Nations. Again, this could not have been the Babylon that existed in Mesopotamia and will never be the one Saddam Hussein made claim to rebuild in Iraq.
Now here, Babylon The Great is called the Hammer of the whole earth, Jeremiah 50:23
23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations! KJV
Now here Hammer is an English term that means; (Police). So in Jeremiah 50:23 it says she is the police of the earth. This is not and will never be Iraq.
Now let’s go to Jeremiah 51:7
7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. KJV
This scripture is talking about Babylon The Great, being a nation that stood behind His people, His people being Israel and God had blessed this nation. She made the earth drunk with her money. This described in these prophecies are a nation that is a greatest purchaser of all goods all over the World. Most third world and rogue nations have suffered greatly from Babylon The Great prospering in the world. Today’s Babylon has done this at the cost of many nations, and they hate Her for it! This is not Iraq. People, stay with me, this is meat not milk!
The Statue Of Liberty
In the prophecy that Zechariah wrote Zech chapter 5:1 – 11, there was a curse attach to the Babylonian Sun that represents Babylon the Great which represents all throughout the world. Her face was carried here in an Ephah. In the Hebrew ephah means; basket. The head of the Statue of Liberty we all know she was was shipped here in a crate, as was here body in different crates.
The curse attached
Zech 5 verses 1-11
5 Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.
2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
We swear by the on name of God Falsely
4 I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.
5 Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.
7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.
9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.
Ephah in Hebrew means Crate or basket
10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?
Shinar is another name for Babylon
11 And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base. KJV
I am not a big fan of the NIV bible but in Verse eleven in The NIV Bible uses the name Babylon
11 He replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.” NIV
